The overhaul of the 2001 New Flyers is well underway. Thus far thirty-eight 38 units out of the 100 buses have either received there overhaul or are in various stages of being overhauled. As mentioned before, the only major change about them is the engine grill on the left side of the bus. Typically during there overhaul each bus received an engine/transmission overhaul, chassis repair, electronic upgrades, and a new paint job. To keep track of the current overhauls....
 New Flyer Overhaul Status

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer SEPTA is expected to Approve the $244 Million contract for United Transit Systems to manufacture 104 rail cars. UTS which is made up of Sojitz Corp of America and Rotem Co. of South Korean originally won the contract back in 2004 which led to a legal battle and a rebiddin process. The manufacturing of these cars will take place in South Korea with final assembly at the former Philadelphia Naval. The Silverliner V fleet will consist of 34 Double end cars and 70 single end cars which will operate in 35 married pairs. The first three (3) prototype cars (presumably a Double end car and a Married set) are due in 2008.

There are now only 43 40 foot Neoplans left in service on SEPTA. All 43 are at Frankford. The remaining Comly units which did not go to Frankford have been removed from the roster. The remaining units are 3323, 3362-3363, 3372, 3374, 3394-3399, 3416-3423, 3425-3434, 3436-3437, 3440-3441, 3443, 3446, 3481-3484, 3486, and 3489-3491.

The kids have already gotten to newly VOHed 5485 out of Comly. 5485 now has windows scrachittiied with "window art." Comly has a bad tract record with vandalized buses. When 5362-5364 came to Red Arrow in fall of 2004, each unit had windows with all sorts of gratified and vandalized with scracthiitii. Plenty of other Comly buses also have window art.
